New Zealand singer-songwriter Brian Baker today celebrates the release of his latest single, "Here Comes The Rain”, recorded at his Kaipara-based studio facility.
Written when Brian first moved into the amazing Northland permaculture property he lives on, and where The Bakery Recording Studio is situated. “I remember feeling overwhelmed by the property, the work that had to be done to serve it. The end result of that initial angst passing was the feeling of focusing on the now, taking one task at a time and letting go of the idea of control. This song emerged about the inevitability of nature, how we are part of it. It’s a joyful track, cathartic and catchy.”
The consummate journeyman musician is also a laid-back bohemian life-styler, living off-the-grid on his permaculture farm in the picturesque heart of the Kaipara. It’s a busy combination, as Baker balances life between running the farm and all that entails, with using his considerable musical talents recording and producing artists in his production studio, ‘The Bakery’.
A naturally gifted, hugely experienced musician, Baker can lay claim to a catalogue of songs that are sure to warm the musical soul of any audience member. Now he’s made a return to performing live in support of it. He’s created a fantastic live show highlighting his uplifting vocals and amazing guitar skills, and has delighted audiences at the Bay Of Island Jazz and Blues Festival, Whangārei Fringe Festival and is booked for the Okura Forest Festival in Feb 2023 in Auckland.
