"MARMARA"
Mortlock’s latest single "Marmara" is a deep and hypnotic journey, combining recorded sounds taken from Turkish percussion and Oud and mixed with the churning organic sounds of The Sea of Marmara in Turkey.
"The idea for Marmara was born after a trip to Istanbul many years ago. I was wondering how I could capture the mysterious feeling that the city projects in a techno track. Using samples I recorded there, and mixing it with some oriental beats and Oud, Marmara was born. Named after the Sea of Marmara, where Istanbul is situated." Marmara's richly melodic elements and driving techno beats and rhythmic percussion will be sure to please fans of techno and experimental electronic music alike, whether it’s on the dance-floor or at home.
