Meg Washington has been busy – amongst many other things – creating the score for the new second series of the ABC TV comedy series FISK.
Approached by the shows creator Kitty Flanagan to provide some fresh new sounds for the series Meg Washington chose to work with good friend, fellow Brisbanite Joff Bush (composer for the wildly successful and wonderful children’s series BLUEY – which also features Meg voicing the character of Calypso) and Daniel O’Brien.
Meg worked with jazz musicians Aaron Jansz and Samuel Pankhurst to riff on the themes Meg and Joff had composed.
The results could potentially be described as a scribbles on variations of the classic ‘boom tish’ highly appropriate for such a clever new comedy series.
Meg’s smouldering swingtime ‘Holy Moses’, from her 2011 album Insomnia opens the series as the credits theme.
The new series starts on ABC TV on October 26th and can also be viewed on iView, of course.
