OMP are proud to announce the signing of Niamh Watson (pronounced “Neeve”), a versatile and young emerging singer-songwriter.
Since being identified at the tender age of thirteen as a 'Star on the Rise' by her local commercial radio station, Niamh has been busy writing, collaborating and exploring musical genres and styles. During those few years (she is still in her mid-teens), she has written and recorded indie-pop tracks with OMP's award winning writer and producer Mario Späte; written and released a dance track as a featured artist with Berlin based DJ/Producer Leon Blake; and she co-wrote a single released by Australian Country/Americana artist Paula Standing with Australian Country Music legends Gina Jeffreys, Rod McCormack and former ARIA nominee Lou Bradley.
Born in Scotland and now living in the Central Coast of NSW Australia, Niamh has quickly become a regular in her local live music scene. She has shared a stage and supported various bands including Little Quirks, The Sea Gypsies and Sunday Avenue in festivals and venues in Sydney and the across the Central Coast of NSW. With her distinctive vocals and lyrical style, Niamh’s audiences are often surprised at her young age.
During 2019, her pop single release 'Mixed Signals' earned Niamh top ten finalist positions in the UK Song Academy - Young International Songwriter competition and in the Australian Song-writing Awards. The song also netted her a semi-finalist position from over 18,000 entries in the highly competitive International Song-writing Competition.
Her latest release 'Sugar' is a breezy indie-pop song - co-written, produced and mixed by Mario Späte (Montaigne, Washington, Tkay Maidza, Stellie) and was recorded in Sydney’s Forbes Street Studios. Available on all major streaming platforms.
