ANDY GOLLEDGE ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM - ‘YOUNG, DUMB & WILD’ TO BE RELEASED 19 APRIL 2024
TITLE TRACK ‘YOUNG DUMB & WILD’ IS OUT NOW
It’s been just on two years since Andy Golledge released his award-winning debut album ‘Strength Of A Queen’ in March 2022. That album and its success took him on a journey of both artistic and personal discovery. It’s all there in album #2 for the Tamworth born, NSW South Coast based singer-songwriter.
Titled ‘Young, Dumb & Wild’, released 19th April 2024 - the album is a journey through change, ageing, new love, new environments – and all the thoughts and feelings that come with it. It’s the next life chapter from the Australian Alt-Country mainstay. Out now is the album’s blistering title track ‘Young, Dumb & Wild’. Of the single Andy said, “It’s anything but a song about being young, dumb and wild; it's more about holding onto that inner child that helps you create more freely. It reflects my efforts to come to terms with performance anxiety and setting myself free on stage.” The title track is the second taste from the new album with ‘Country Band’ released late in 2023. The rollicking road trip tune declares that love exists in its many wondrous forms in all your relationships – friends, family, and of course, your band. It’s the type of party-starting track that fans of Golledge’s live shows have come to expect. The main goal of ‘Young, Dumb & Wild’ was to create a mature and cohesive album from start to finish, with all tracks having a thematic relationship with one another. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Ryan Miller at Hercules Street Studios in Sydney, the 11 tracks ebb and flow through the highs and lows of change and ageing with Andy managing to carve out another classic record of self-described ‘Alt-Country-esque Dad Rock’ tunes. Andy’s debut album ‘Strength of a Queen’ was released to an eager audience and with great acclaim. The album won ‘Best Independent Country Album/EP’ at the AIR Awards 2023 – it charted #3 on ARIA's Top Vinyl Albums and #4 on ARIA's Australian Country Albums, and was also nominated for ‘Best Country Album’ at the ARIA Awards 2022 and ‘Best Alternative Country Album’ at the CMAA Golden Guitar Awards 2023. 2024 will also see Golledge on the small screen. Following his feature role on the SBS Series ‘Robbie Hood’ (2019) - Andy will feature in the upcoming drama ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal’ alongside Sherry-Lee Watson (Heartbreak High), Will McDonald (Heartbreak High, Young Rock), Miranda Otto (The Clearing, The Portable Door, Talk To Me) and Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), due for release on STAN later this year. An Andy Golledge show is both exhilarating and unpredictable. The Andy Golledge Band consists of some of the most respected musicians in the alt country/Americana scene in Australia including Leroy Lee (guitar / vocals) Caitlin Harnett (banjo / vocals), Nick Ryan (bass) and Josh Piltz (drums) and their shows can take you from tender to tears, to rollicking and dancing wildly. With a show coming up at the Tamworth Country Music Festival on 27 January, fans should keep an eye out for a full tour to be announced very soon. Comments are closed.
