Josie Mann is a Sydney-based singer, songwriter and composer whose music weaves soul-infused storytelling with cinematic elegance. Her original songwriting is brooding and expansive, balancing introspective warmth with intricate sonic detail through delicate piano, strings and layered vocals. This sound is evident across her latest releases, Blue and Growing Up.
Alongside her solo work, Josie writes and performs as Jofi, collaborating as a topliner across R&B and pop. The project draws on her instinct for rhythmic, hook-driven songwriting and production. In 2025, Josie signed with ORiGiN Music Publishing to develop her original songwriting repertoire, and in early 2026 attended the Musigamy Songwriting Camp in Paris, where she collaborated with artists including GEISTE, tetha and Ellen Birath.
A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Josie frequently layers and manipulates her own voice to create intricate harmonies and expressive arrangements. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, she draws on classical and jazz influences to create nuanced, emotionally driven work.
Since joining the Sonar Music collective in 2022, Josie has composed across numerous film, television, documentary and commercial projects. Her screen credits include the STUDIOCANAL feature Kangaroo, the highest-grossing Australian film of 2025; Stan’s Bump (Seasons 2–5); and the AACTA-nominated Netflix series The Speedway Murders. Most recently, she performed a cover of Nick Cave’s Into My Arms for Season 2 of Disney+’s The Artful Dodger.
Her work also extends into podcasts and visual art. Josie composed the theme for Audiocraft’s Flirties, a finalist for Best Original Series at the 2024 BBC Audio Drama Awards, and in late 2025 composed the theme for Masterpiece, a project by visual artist Jessica Yolanda Kaye featuring lush string arrangements.
As a vocalist and arranger, Josie has also featured on numerous soundtracks and artist projects, including Sydney’s 2025 and 2026 New Year’s Eve fireworks broadcasts.
