Aria-nominated songwriter and producer, Dingo Spender is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Melbourne. Initially studying 35mm photography, he spent a summer raising money for a new camera busking on an alto saxophone. It was winter when he was offered his first record deal and the camera was traded in for a Yamaha SU700 Sampler and a shitty laptop full of cracked software. His first band Offcuts was a playful experiment in the art of sampling, home recording and national radio success. 5 years of festivals, national and international touring and various releases varying wildly in style left him always seeking deeper collaboration. A side project with best friends called The Sneaker Trio soon led to him joining Custom Kings and several summers were spent touring the East Coast in joyful abandon. All the way Spender continued working in a variety of music mediums, from composing theatre scores, and film soundtracks, and co-writing/producing in the studio with a multitude of diverse artists in Australia and abroad: M-Phazes, Bertie Blackman, Lior, Kimbra, Gotye, Gossling, Clare Bowditch, Mama Kin, Clairy Browne and Dani Siciliano.
